// 01   Who we are

Edge45® Limited is a York-based digital marketing agency. SEO Audit Services is the trading name under which we provide SEO audits. Because SEO Audit Services and Edge45 are the same legal entity, this policy sits alongside, and is consistent with, the main Edge45 privacy policy.

// 02   The data we collect

When you request a free audit or send us your details through this site, we collect the information you give us directly:

  • Identity and contact data: your name, email address and phone number.
  • Your enquiry: the website address you ask us to audit, and anything else you tell us.
  • Consent record: that you agreed to us contacting you, and when.

We also collect limited technical and usage data automatically, such as your IP address, browser type and how you use the site, through cookies and analytics. We do not collect any special category data, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

// 03   How we use it, and our lawful basis

We use your personal data to:

  • Run the audit you requested and email you the report. Lawful basis: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interests in providing the service.
  • Respond to your enquiry and discuss how we can help. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests in responding to people who contact us, and the consent you give when you submit the form.
  • Understand and improve the site through analytics. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests in maintaining and improving our website, and your consent to non-essential cookies.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for unrelated marketing without your permission.

// 04   Who we share it with

We share your data only with the service providers who help us deliver the audit and run this site, and only so far as they need it. These include:

  • Hosting and infrastructure providers for this website and our audit platform.
  • Email delivery providers used to send you the confirmation and your report.
  • SEO analysis tools (such as Semrush and Ahrefs) used to analyse the website address you submit and produce your audit.
  • Analytics providers (such as Google Analytics) used to measure site usage.

All of these act as our processors under contract. We may also disclose data where required by law.

// 05   International transfers

Some of our providers are based outside the UK. Where your data is transferred abroad, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement, so that it receives an equivalent level of protection.

// 06   How we keep it safe

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, and we limit access to those who need it to do their job.

// 07   How long we keep it

We keep your personal data only for as long as we need it for the purposes above, including to meet any legal, accounting or reporting requirements. When we no longer need it, we securely delete or anonymise it. You can ask us to delete your details at any time (see your rights below).

// 08   Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Ask us to delete your data (erasure).
  • Ask us to restrict or object to how we use it.
  • Ask us to transfer your data to you or another provider (portability).
  • Withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent.

To exercise any of these, email dataprotection@edge45.co.uk. There is normally no charge, and we will respond within one month.

// 09   Cookies

This site uses essential cookies to function and, with your agreement, analytics cookies to help us understand how it is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

// 10   Complaints

If you have a concern, please contact us first at dataprotection@edge45.co.uk and we will do our best to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

// 11   Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised "last updated" date above.
